Summary

Eleanor is the new girl in town, and she's never felt more alone。 All mismatched clothes, mad red hair and chaotic home life, she couldn't stick out more if she tried。

Then she takes the seat on the bus next to Park。 Quiet, careful and - in Eleanor's eyes - impossibly cool, Park's worked out that flying under the radar is the best way to get by。

Slowly, steadily, through late-night conversations and an ever-growing stack of mix tapes, Eleanor and Park fall in love。 They fall in love the way you do the first time, when you're 16, and you have nothing and everything to lose。

Set over the course of one school year in 1986, Eleanor & Park is funny, sad, shocking and true - an exquisite nostalgia trip for anyone who has never forgotten their first love。

two words。 fucking shit。 WHAT THE HELL WAS THIS? TERRIBLE ENDING, TERRIBLE PROTAGONIST, TERRIBLE PLOT, TERRIBLE STEREOTYPES -- i could go on and on。 this book physically angered me; i cannot comprehend how the average rating is 4 stars。 what the fuck was this。 i felt racially targeted while reading this; for Rowell's takes on asian culture were blatantly terrible。 i've used that word a lot, but this really made me so mad。 i don't care if park is half white, PARK IS A KOREAN SURNAME! YOU CAN'T GI two words。 fucking shit。 WHAT THE HELL WAS THIS? YOU CAN'T GIVE A BOY OF KOREAN HERITAGE A KOREAN SURNAME! THAT'S SO BLOODY WEIRD! the least rainbow rowell, a WHITE author, could've done was do her bloody research。 the worst representation of my race i have ever seen in a book。next。 fucking eleanor。 god。 i don't care if you have family trauma, your actions towards Park are inexcusable。 if someone treated me the way she treated him i would've drop kicked her ass so fastnext。 the fucking ending。 listen, the least you could've done after writing a shitty fucking story was give it a happy ending, because what the fuck was that。 literally what。 LITERALLY。 WHAT。 i'm going to conclude this review because i'm already getting mad just by the thought of this book。 which is so disappointing because i really, really liked Fangirl。 i cannot comprehend how one of my favourite books and the worst book i've ever read can be written by the same author。 i don't think a non-poc would understand my frustration and anger caused by this book, because the way Rowell has portrayed and perceived an asian character is just outright revolting。 jesus (see what i did there)。 。。。more

Con su madre? Con sus hermanos? Sinceramente, me interesaba más saber esas cosas que cómo seguía su relación con Park。Con todo esto le daría un 4。5/5。 Me lo he pasado muy bien leyéndolo, me lo he tragado prácticamente en tres días。 。。。more

I’ve read this for the second time and still, I super love this book! One of the reasons why I love this book is because I can relate to her。 She’s fat, I’m fat。 She wears guy clothes, I wear guy clothes。 She never had a boyfriend (before she met Park), I’m NBSB。 This book gives me hope that someday I will find my Park, someday someone will love me for me, will be with me no matter what。 (okay spoilers alert) I love how Park never stop loving Eleanor after what happened。 The ending is soo cliffh I’ve read this for the second time and still, I super love this book! If you want to just smile, read this! You will not be disappointed! 。。。more

I’m learning more and more that I don’t care for contemporary if we’re being honest, but I gave this book 4 stars because it invoked a lot of emotions at the end of the book and I did really appreciate that because throughout the whole book I didn’t feel connected to the characters and yet the ending still made me feel something

3。5 I think this book might have been over hyped for me。 Nothing bad to say but the way people talk about it I guess I expected to be a bit more blown away。

Whilst I occasionally struggled to remember all of Eleanor's siblings, I feel that they weren't in the book too much so this didn't really bother me。 Aside from this, I found that this book was perfect! It would be brilliant if a sequel for Eleanor and Park would make an appearance in the future, as I feel as though the book was left on a note that could have some potential for a future book。 Whilst the book did end in a fantastic way, I would just love to see more of Eleanor and Park again。 It's hard to find books that are as spectacular as this one; I can definitely say that Eleanor and Park is now one of my favourite books, and I shall definitely be reading this again in the near future! 。。。more

This book wasn’t for me。 Their love story just didn’t make sense。。。 maybe that’s the point with young love? Not fully sure。

As soon as I finished this book, I wanted to start over。 Eleanor and Park is a soft place to land。 It was funny and adorable and angsty。 I need it to be a movie。 I need more。 Not because it's unresolved but because it was too good to end。 As soon as I finished this book, I wanted to start over。 Eleanor and Park is a soft place to land。 It was funny and adorable and angsty。 I need it to be a movie。 I need more。 Not because it's unresolved but because it was too good to end。 。。。more

Cute YA novel。 Really reminded me of my teen years。 Didn’t give it a 5 cuz I guess i wanted the end to be perfect and it was just a little short of it。 Overall a good light read!

A sweet coming of age love story, but there are many parts of it that I felt were unnecessary and for me spoiled the sweetness of the story, especially because the two teenagers in this book are so young, and I feel the intimacy while it seemed wouldn't go far in fact went too far。 While the intimacy depicted in this story might have realistically happend in today's world, I always feel and hunger for stories that encourage better moral behavior and that stories like these should help and encour A sweet coming of age love story, but there are many parts of it that I felt were unnecessary and for me spoiled the sweetness of the story, especially because the two teenagers in this book are so young, and I feel the intimacy while it seemed wouldn't go far in fact went too far。 While the intimacy depicted in this story might have realistically happend in today's world, I always feel and hunger for stories that encourage better moral behavior and that stories like these should help and encourage the young to make good choices, so I feel that some areas of this story which began well at first, I later felt let down by the parts that I didn't agree with。 Also the fact that Park's parent's did not control certain situation with Eleanor's visit to the house and his bedroom was just not believable to me, because it seemed like such a moral good loving family。 The family disfunction on her side, with the good family on his side, was well done outside the couples relationship, and it was wonderful to see that comparison, to help children on both sides of the coin relate and discern between the two。 The bullying in the story seems accurate and realistic as though。 Other than the one or too areas that I would have changed, and the ending left me a bit cold, with nothing to imagine for a future, it was ok。 。。。more

I wasn't into it。 I liked Park, I felt sorry for Eleanor family's situation, but despite that, it never really caught me。 I've read more of Rainbow Rowell stuff that I've liked better than this book, but I can't think of a moment while reading in which I actually enjoyed reading it rather than just passing pages and reading because I wanted to finish the story。 I wasn't into it。 I liked Park, I felt sorry for Eleanor family's situation, but despite that, it never really caught me。 I've read more of Rainbow Rowell stuff that I've liked better than this book, but I can't think of a moment while reading in which I actually enjoyed reading it rather than just passing pages and reading because I wanted to finish the story。 。。。more

I've had this book in my TBR pile for far too long。 I've grown out of this kind of literature。 Beyond that, the plot is seriously not going anywhere for 80% of the book。 The book is overwhelmingly overrated。 I've had this book in my TBR pile for far too long。 I've grown out of this kind of literature。 Beyond that, the plot is seriously not going anywhere for 80% of the book。 The book is overwhelmingly overrated。 。。。more

I loved this book and cried at the end but when I say I loved this book I guess I say it with shame。 I’m not going to say much but there are a couple of review giving the details。 I didn’t know what I was getting myself into I should have done research but when I didn’t know at didn’t pay attention, I loved it book。 It’s a shame really。
